I found this quote on a website of a new clothing company that I’ve fallen completely in love with:
“We can only be mended to the extent that we attend to this holiness, and only made whole through exposing the wear we have withstood.”~ @magnoliapearlclothing @magnoliapearl
Immediately, I felt the impact and truth of that quote. What holiness? Well…something that we become whole through having withstood. Pick a thing…a death of a loved one, divorce, loss of a home, epic move, tragic accident, long, drawn out custody battle, miscarriage, near death, betrayal, business failure, bankruptcy, etc.
And what of, "becoming whole through exposing the wear we have withstood?” Well, to expose, not hide…to feel and not numb out, to be authentic, not phony. If not publicly, at least within ourSelves. To allow ourselves to feel all the feels of a heart-wrenching experience and not try to bypass it with repression, or suppression. To fully embrace the experience and not to pretend that you are “just fine” when you are not.
To “attend to” means that we sit with, we care for, we be mindful of.
And “this holiness” …this holiness is your beautiful, magnificent heart. The heart only feels deeply when it has loved deeply… and love is always holy. Rumi said, “Love is the way messengers from the mystery tell us things.” The messenger is your heart. When you attend to this holiness, you will be “mended.”
To do so, is the sign of a mature soul…and the only way to wholeness.
One must learn the language of feelings, if one is to evolve… It’s a rare thing to transform one’s Self without all of the authentic feels and a tear or two or ten.
Please attend to this holiness within yourSelf. 💕🙏🏼🌸
And if you’ve never heard of the magical clothing @magnoliapearlclothing do your heart another favor and invest in one of their works of art. 🌸💕
